I am trained in nutrition, biochemistry, and molecular biology, with more than 20 years of experience in translational neuroscience research in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). My work has generated insights on the molecular mechanisms underlying the onset and progression of AD, and this information has been translated into multiple therapeutic developments. To date, my research has resulted in over 111 papers published in peer-reviewed journals. I have extensive experience with experimental and preclinical studies characterizing the bioactivities of polyphenol components in the brain and the beneficial impacts of dietary supplementation with polyphenol preparations in reducing AD mechanisms in mouse models. Howard S. Weber completed his fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Yale New Haven Hospital in 1989 and immediately began his career as an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Penn State Hershey Childrens Hospital and also director of the catheterization lab. He has published more than 50 articles in various national and international peer reviewed cardiology journals and serves on numerous editorial boards of these same journals. He has been an invited lecturer at numerous interventional pediatric cardiology meetings both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Andreas Petropoulos graduated from Aristotle University’s Medical School, Greece in 1989. Followed 30 year career as a medical officer, senior Flight Surgeon in the Hellenic Air-Force. Specialized in Aviation & Hyperbaric Medicine, Pediatrics, Fetal, Pediatrics and Congenital Cardiology in USA and Europe. Holds M.Sc in Preventive Cardiology. An AEPC Prevention and Heart Failure/Pulmonary Hypertension, working group’s member. Worked and lectured in Athens and Brussels universities. Currently consults in Fetal, Pediatrics and Congenital Cardiology in Merkezi Klinika and is Associate Professor at the State University and Post Graduate and CME Center in Azerbaijan. His research focuses on prevention, CVD imaging techniques, fetal cardiology, and heart failure.

He is also President of the Association of Children\'s Allergy southern Spain and belongs to the Food Allergy Committee of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Allergy.

Samir K Ballas received his MD with distinction from the American University of Beirut-Lebanon in 1967. He completed his training in Hematology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, Blood Banking, Pain Medicine and Pain Management. He is currently Emeritus Professor of medicine and Pediatrics at Thomas Jefferson University and honorary staff member of HEMORIO, the Hematology Institute in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has authored or co-authored over 800 articles, book chapters and abstracts. He also published two editions of a Book on sickle cell pain in 1998 and 2014 respectively.

Rabia Gönül Sezer completed her medical education at Marmara University School of Medicine in 2000 and her pediatric fellowship in 2005. She is a Ministry of Health employee, working as a paediatrician currently at Zeynep Kamil Maternity and Childrens Diseases Training and Research Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey. She works with a broad range of patients and particularly focus on working with the infectious, neurologic and neonatal diseases. She is a Research Fellow at the hospital for more than 4 years and became an Associate Professor in 2014.

He has published 620 articles, including reviews and chapters in textbooks on Neonatology. Of these more than 160 are recorded in Medline. The main topics are hypoxia, hypoxiareoxygenation injury, the effect of free radicals in the neonatal period, and mechanisms of brain injury. He is involved with the organization of several European Conferences, and in the coordination of numerous pan-European clinical trials. He is the Coordinator of the European scientific network EURAIBI (acronym for EURope Against Infant Brain Injury). His research interests are in the mechanisms of cell damage in the neonatal brain, with special reference to hypoxia, the role of oxidant radicals in neonatal diseases and in babies with birth asphyxia. His research team is funded by several agencies including the Italian Ministry of University and Scientific Researchcofinance scheme for research projects of high national interest.
